 Thank you for inquiring about Shadowland Ballroom at Silver Beach for your wedding reception or event. Shadowland is within a short walk of beautiful Silver Beach where you and your guests can witness a remarkable Lake Michigan sunset. Connected to Shadowland is the Silver Beach Carousel, showcasing over 1,000 glittering lights and 48 hand-carved, hand-painted figures. The Sunset Patio overlooks the lighted Whirlpool Compass fountain, riverside boardwalk, and St. Joseph’s tree-lined sculpture parks. The ballroom is a perfect setting for an intimate gathering of 50 or a lavish affair for 300.
2011 Room Pricing Off Season (January 2- April 30) Monday-Thursday $525 Friday & Sunday $775 Saturday $1,250 Peak Season (May 1- Jan 1) Monday-Thursday $1,050 Friday & Sunday $1,550 Saturday $2,500 The Sunset Room is a portion of the ballroom with wall-to-wall windows facing Silver Beach and the Whirlpool Compass Fountain. It can seat 80 and is available to rent Monday-Thursday for $250. Audio/ Visual Shadowland is equipped with two 13’ HD screens to display your pictures or videos. Lighting is adjustable and can be customized in the colors of your event. A CD player and sound system is available or you may chose to hire a DJ. The entire building is wireless. The use of one microphone and the CD player is included in your room rental fee. Use of additional Audio Visual equipment is a $200 change. Tableware Shadowland has classic white tableware to coordinate with the design of your event. Dinner plates, salad plates, dessert plates, glasses, wine glasses, coffee cups, and silverware are available. The first piece is $1.00 and each additional piece is $0.50. Place settings can also be purchased at a fixed rate. All china must be rented from Shadowland. If you wish to bring in disposable place settings you may do so. Full Place Setting- $6.00 per person (Dinner plate, salad plate, bread plate, glass, wine goblet, coffee cup, saucer, salad fork, dinner fork, knife, spoon, dessert plate) Partial Place Setting- $3.00 per person (Dinner plate, glass, fork, knife, spoon) Linens Shadowland has white or ivory table cloths for 60” round tables. A variety of napkin colors are available to coordinate with the design of your event. Table coverings are $1.50 per person and napkins are $0.50. Prices include linen placement before the tables are set and clean up at the end of the evening. If you wish to order custom linens from another vendor you may do so. Bar Service An onsite liquor license provides maximum flexibility and minimum stress. A beverage package can be purchased to cover all drinks for a five hour event or drinks can be purchased on a per drink basis. A bar menu is available with specific beer, wine, and liquor options. Prices include bar glasses and bar tender fees. It is illegal in the state of Michigan for alcoholic beverages to be brought on the premises by the client or guests. Bistro chef Ryan Thornburg can create a delicious and personalized buffet or plated meal for your event. Prices range from $19 to $33 a plate depending on your selection.
Carousel Rental The beautiful Silver Beach Carousel is available to rent for the exclusive use of your guests for 30 minutes at $250. This rental includes 50 tokens to be used at a later date or given to your guests as a favors. Additional tokens can be purchased for $2 each, or 35 tokens for $40 with our quantity discount. During this time you and your guests may ride the carousel or take photographs. If you do not wish to rent the carousel, your guests may ride the carousel during regular operating hours with the purchase of token. The carousel can also be used as a unique backdrop to take your wedding photographs. Photographs can be taken during regular operating hours for a fee of $50.00. Photo Booth Use The photo booth can be rented for your wedding reception or event for $500. This includes 5 hours of photos, a scrapbook, a person to man the booth, as well as assembly of the scrapbook. The price will be less if you would like the photo booth for a shorter amount of time or if you would not like a scrapbook. The photo booth can also be rented without an attendant for $85/hour.
